Fashion Stereotypes to Avoid in the Office

   Skimpy dresser

  • On a scale of corporate to stripper, she is much closer to the stripper side than is acceptable.
  • People on all floors of the office know her purely from what she wears.
  • Her name might be Amber, or you might just think her name is Amber.
  • You are waiting eagerly to see her costume for the End of Financial Year Party.
  • When she drops a pen, all the guys turn to watch her pick it up.

    Boring Dresser

  • This person appears to have the same five outfits on rotate week in, week out.
  • Their work clothes appear boring and lack fashion and flair.
  • Just looking at their outfit puts you to sleep.
  • You feel like jumping out of your cubicle and throwing paint at them, just to brighten up their outfit.

    In Denial

  • This person has recently gained weight yet refuses to admit it.
  • They are holding onto the hopes that their clothes will continue to fit them, despite the fact they don't.
  • Their shirt buttons pop open on the bus and nobody says anything to them.
  • You offer them a seat because you think they are pregnant

This blog is about me, the Cubicle Fashionista, giving my view about fashion trends for the office, what to wear to work, how to incorporate fashion into your office wardrobe and how to avoid fashion faux pas in the corporate world. The blog focuses mainly on corporate fashion from a female perspective, over-achieving fashion-conscious women and the people they work with.
